Michele Gumabao

Michelle Gumabao is one of the prominent opposite spikers in the Philippine Volleyball. She is called as the “swag queen” way back on her playing years in her collegiate team in De LaSalle University. However, this year, Gumabao decided not to play for Cocolife (which is her team in PSL) and instead decided to play for Creamline (a team from Premiere Volleyball League), together with her former teammate Melissa Gohing and "The Phenom" Alyssa Valdez. Furthermore, Michelle, also joined the Binibining Pilipinas search legged.

Ria Meneses

Marivic Meneses, or also known as Ria Meneses, is one of the recruits of coach Shaq Delos Santos for Petron Blaze Spiker on their team year last 2017. Ria is one of the well-known middle spikers alongside with Mika Reyes and Remy Palma that were both recruited by Petron. Before she played for Petron, Meneses is one of the main middle blockers of Generika-Ayala (which she chose to play this year, 2018) together with her other teammate in Petron Blaze Spiker like Bang Pineda and April Ross Hingpit. Ria Meneses also forego her last playing year for UST Tigresses this UAAP Season 80.

Chloe Cortez

Chloe Cortez is one of the magic “bunot” of Coach Kung-fu Reyes way back on her playing year in UST. She is also one of the ladies that had graduated and parted from her collegiate teammate last year. Chloe is also a part of the Generika-Ayala Lifesavers but this year she will try her luck as she embraces her new team and new home, Petron.

Pia Gaiser

Pia Gaiser is one of the well-known liberos of all time in her playing career in the UAAP. She serves as the floor defense specialist of the UP Fighting Maroons but unfortunately, before her career ended she sustained an ACL tear from her last save for their match. But this year, Gaiser decided to make a comeback and be part of the Petron Blaze Spikers as they conquer the Grand Pix season of PSL.

Gyzelle Sy

Gyzelle Sy is one of the best playmakers alongside with Kim Fajardo and Jia Morado on her playing career in the UAAP. She also banged the crown together with her teammate in Pocari for three consecutive seasons of Shakey’s V-League and Premiere Volleyball League. But now, Sy decided to make a change as she joined the Foton Tornadoes alongside with Carmina Aganon that came from Petron Blaze Spikers.

Here are the other changes that happened in the Philippine SuperLiga:

  • Import Sara Klisura to make a comeback but with Cocolife

  • Coach Rommel Abella to be the new coach of Foton

  • Coach Moro Branislav from Foton to Cocolife

  • Djanel Cheng from PSL to PVL

  • Coach George Pascua bid goodbye to Cignal and joined Sta.Lucia

  • Shawna-Lei Santos to be included in the Cocolife line-up

  • Coach Jerry Yee to be part of Team TOTAL (PVL)

As old as it sounds, change has always been and will always be a huge part of our lives. We always wanted to try something different and to explore more. And as for the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) volley belles, shifting from one team to another is the change they did and about to do. So, here are the major team changing events.
