Metro Manila Film Festival 2017

As the Yuletide season approaches, Filipinos are eager to know which movies made it to the list of this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).  The MMFF has always been an effective tool in highlighting Filipino films, actors and directors.  Starting on Christmas Day until the first week of January, the audience will get the chance to watch these eight dynamic films.

PANDAY

 

First on the list is the epic fantasy action Ang Panday directed by Rodel Nacianceno, produced by CCM Creative Productions ,Inc. which is owned by Panday himself, Coco Martin.

GANDARRAPIDDO: THE REVENGER SQUAD

Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad Starring the Unkabogable Vice Ganda, ½ of Kathniel - Daniel Padilla & Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will surely give you the laugh that you need this Christmas.  The film is directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal and produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.

ALL OF YOU

All Of You will give you the “English Only Please” vibes as Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsey pairs up for another romantic-comedy film, directed by Dan Villegas and produced by Quantum & MJM Productions.

MEANT TO BEH

Bossing Vic Sotto’s entry for this year is MEANT TO BEH, which also stars Ms. Dawn Zulueta.  The upcoming movie also marks the reunion of Zulueta and Sotto after 30 years of working together in the fantasy series Okay Ka, Fairy Ko! way back in 1995.  The film is directed by Antonio Y. Reyes and produced by OCTO ARTS FILMS. 

DEADMA WALKING

If you loved “Die Beautiful”, be ready to cry again with a film based on the Palanca Award-winning script of Eric Cabahug - Deadma Walking, which tells the story of two gay best friends.  Starring real-life best friends Joross Gamboa and Edgar Allan Guzman, the film is directed by Julius Alfonso and produced by T-Rex Productions.

SIARGAO

Siargao would make you feel like summer all over again.  This film is directed by Paul Soriano and produced under TEN17P.  Starring Erich Gonzalez, Jericho Rosales and Jasmin Curtis-Smith.

HAUNTED FOREST

From the director of “Mano Po 7: Chinoy”, Ian Lorenos is a horror flick HAUNTED FOREST.  Produced by Regal Films, the film stars Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal, and Jon Lucas.

LARAWAN

A film adaptation of the musical “Larawan” and is based on National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin’s play “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino” - ANG LARAWAN. The film stars Paulo Avelino, Joanna Ampil and Rachel Alejandro.  This musical adaptation is directed by Joy Areenas and brought by Culturtain Musicat Productions Inc. with the help of supervising producer Alemberg Ang.
