President Rodrigo Duterte 2017 Christmas Message

“As we celebrate the year’s most festive and joyful season, I would like to greet all my fellow Filipinos a very merry Christmas and amidst all merriment, we must—let us pause and remember our countrymen who’ve lost their lives fighting for the integrity of our country. And for those who lost their homes and loved ones in their recent war, those who are far from their families and those who are not as fortunate and as blessed as most of us, let us show our true compassion and include them in our supplication during the Yuletide season. And as always I wish a progressive and peaceful country, and for the prosperity of our countrymen. Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon sa ating lahat.”

“Let us pause and remember our countrymen who have lost their lives fighting for the integrity of our country, and for those who lost their homes and loved ones in their recent war,” said President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on his Christmas message this year.

In a video posted on the Facebook page of the Presidential Communications Office this Thursday, December 21 2017, the President urged his fellow Filipinos that while commemorating this “most festive and joyful season”, we should also remember the troops who have fought for Marawi and the victims displaced in the 5-month siege wherein at least 1,000 people were killed including militaries and terrorists, and thousands of residents evacuated from their home.
